Art has no borders. The program of training deaf and hearing-impaired guides to conduct museum tours in the sign language was created to help these people open the world of art for themselves and their future audience. Two years ago, we learnt about this initiative and gladly supported it.

In January 2020, the unique project went beyond the borders of Russia. The best first-year graduates and second- year students had a training course in the museums of Vatican. Art education took place in the Gregorian museum, the Gallery of Maps, Apartments of Pope Pius V, the Sistine Chapel, Vatican gardens, St Peter’s Cathedral, Capitol museums and the world-famous Colosseum.

During their visit, the Petersburg guides posted daily “Italian chronicles” and wrote about their impressions in social media. Today, they present an inspiring video made during training to reward us and share the beauty of Italian heritage.
